Patient stories

50,000 patients. One story at a time.

These aren’t actors. They’re people who walked into one of our clinics tired, short of breath, scared, and walked out of session 35 changed. We’ve collected their words below, exactly as they told us. Some are written, some are on video. None are paid.

Stories from across the country.

Filtered by what brought them in, angina, heart failure, no remaining options. Different conditions, same arc: tired and scared at session 1, surprised at session 18, different person at session 35.

MS
Marjorie S., 68
Dallas, TX · Angina
“I couldn’t make it to my mailbox. Now I’m gardening again. My cardiologist asked what I’d changed, when I told him, he asked for the literature.”
DC
Daniel C., 74
Austin, TX · Heart failure
“EF was 28%. I needed a nap after a shower. After 35 sessions my echo came back at 35% and I walked into my doctor’s office without needing to sit down. He was speechless.”
PA
Patricia A., 65
San Antonio, TX · Post-bypass
“Triple bypass in 2019. Two years later the chest pain came back. I was terrified they’d want to open me up again. EECP gave me three more years of feeling like myself.”
JT
James T., 79
Charlotte, NC · No options left
“Three cardiologists in a row said there was nothing more they could do. I refused to accept that. I’m so glad I didn’t, EECP gave me back the energy to see my granddaughter graduate.”
EH
Eleanor H., 72
Houston, TX · Angina
“I’m a retired nurse. I was skeptical of anything I hadn’t already heard of in 40 years on the floor. Then I went and tried it. I’m a believer now, and I’m telling everyone.”
FG
Frank G., 81
McAllen, TX · Heart failure
“I’m 81. My wife drove me to every appointment. The staff treated her like family too. I came in shuffling and left walking. Worth every minute of those seven weeks.”
CL
Carla L., 69
Fort Worth, TX · No options left
“I had stents in three vessels and was told another procedure would be too risky. EECP wasn’t a magic bullet, but it cut my chest pain by 70% and got me off two pills. That’s enormous to me.”
GR
George R., 76
Raleigh, NC · Post-bypass
“My grafts started failing 8 years after CABG. Surgeon said no to reoperation. EECP was the alternative. It worked. Simple as that.”
SN
Susan N., 70
El Paso, TX · Angina
“The hour goes faster than you’d think. I watched a different documentary every day. The technicians are kind, the room is comfortable, and you leave a little better each time.”

Names changed at patient request; clinical detail kept exactly as reported. We can connect prospective patients with a graduate willing to talk by phone, just ask.

About these stories

What patients ask before sharing their own.

Are these real patients?

Yes. Every story on this page comes from a patient who completed treatment at one of our clinics and signed a written release. We change first-name initials only when the patient asks. Clinical details (CCS class, NYHA class, medication changes, echo findings) are kept exactly as reported, we don’t round, smooth, or embellish numbers.

Can I talk to a graduate before I decide?

Yes, and we encourage it. About a third of our prospective patients ask. We maintain a small list of graduates (organized by condition: angina, heart failure, post-bypass, chronic angina) who have agreed to take a phone call from someone considering EECP. Mention this on your free consultation and we’ll make the introduction.

I don’t see anyone here with my exact condition.

This is a curated set, not the full population. EECP has FDA clearance for stable angina, unstable angina, post-MI, and heart failure (NYHA II-III), and is used off-label for several other conditions. If your situation isn’t represented above, the consult call is the right next step. Bring your most recent echo, stress test, and medication list and we’ll tell you straight whether you’re a fit.

Why aren’t there before/after charts or scans on this page?

HIPAA. We can’t post identifiable clinical imagery alongside a name without separate, narrow consent for each item, and most patients decline that level of exposure. Aggregate outcomes (CCS class shifts, walking distance, nitrate reduction) appear on the Science page. Individual chart data can be shared with your referring cardiologist on request.

What about patients who didn’t improve?

20-25% of patients see no meaningful improvement in symptoms by week 7. Some have anatomy that doesn’t respond (very distal disease, severe left-main, advanced peripheral vascular disease); others have non-cardiac causes layered on the cardiac picture. We screen for predictors of non-response at intake and tell candidates honestly when the odds aren’t in their favor. We don’t have non-responders on this page only because non-responders don’t tend to write us testimonials, not because they don’t exist.

I want to share my own story. How?

Email stories@flowtherapy.com or tell the staff at your last session. We’ll send a one-page release covering what you’d like included (initials vs. full name, city, condition, photo or initials-avatar, video or text-only). No pressure, no rewrite, no payment, your words stay your words.
