A dedicated EECP clinic serving Plano, Allen, Frisco, Richardson, Murphy and the wider Collin County community. Board-certified cardiologist supervision, managed by advanced practice providers, trained EECP technicians, and the latest FDA-cleared therapy systems. Designed to feel like a day spa for your heart.
For more than two decades, Flow Therapy has helped patients across North Texas reclaim quality of life when stents, bypass and medication alone weren’t enough. Our Plano clinic sits on Dexter Drive, minutes from the Dallas North Tollway and US-75 (Central Expressway), convenient to Allen, Frisco, Richardson, Murphy and downtown Plano.
This is not a cardiology office that also offers EECP between appointments. It’s a dedicated EECP clinic. That means trained staff, dedicated equipment and individual rooms, and a treatment experience built around the patient’s day, not a hospital’s schedule.
Every patient we treat is evaluated by a board-certified cardiologist, then treated by EECP technicians who do this, and only this, every single day.
Counterpulsation Therapy is a non-invasive, FDA-cleared outpatient therapy that helps the body grow new blood-flow pathways to the heart. No incisions, no anesthesia, no downtime.
During each one-hour session, you lie comfortably on a treatment bed while three sets of inflatable cuffs, wrapped around your calves, thighs, and hips, gently inflate and deflate in precise rhythm with your heartbeat.
When your heart relaxes between beats, the cuffs squeeze blood upward toward the heart. When your heart pumps, the cuffs release. Over a full course of 35 sessions, this rhythmic counter-pulsing trains your body to open new natural pathways, called collaterals, for blood to reach the heart muscle. Best of all, it works like passive exercise for your heart, delivering many of the benefits of a workout while you simply lie back and relax.
The result is more oxygen delivered to the heart, less chest pain, increased energy, better exercise tolerance, and improved quality of life, typically lasting two to five years from a single course.

Most patients arrive after exhausting stents, bypass, or maximum-tolerated medication. EECP is a non-invasive, outpatient therapy designed to grow new natural pathways for blood to reach the heart, by training your body to build them.
Persistent chest pain or pressure despite stents, bypass and optimized medication.
Including non-obstructive CAD and patients told they’re not a candidate for further intervention.
Reduced or preserved ejection fraction, fatigue, shortness of breath, fluid retention.
Chest pain with normal angiogram, frequently dismissed elsewhere, well-studied for EECP response.
Small-vessel disease, more common in women and frequently under-treated.
Patients with diabetes whose cardiac symptoms persist despite glycemic control.

One hour per weekday for 35 sessions. You arrive in normal clothes, lay down, and we wrap inflatable cuffs around your calves, thighs, and hips. The cuffs inflate in time with your heartbeat. You watch a show. You leave. That’s it.
EECP is FDA-cleared and covered by Medicare for qualifying patients with chronic angina or stable angina, plus other indications under specific criteria. Most major commercial insurers, Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Humana, Tricare, also cover EECP.
Our Plano team handles the prior authorization paperwork, talks directly to your plan, and gives you a clear coverage estimate before you commit to a course. No surprise bills, no “you might owe” conversations after the fact.
Yes. Medicare covers EECP for patients with disabling chronic angina (Class III or IV) who are not readily amenable to surgical intervention, as well as for several other indications. Medicare Advantage plans follow the same coverage rules and are also accepted at our Plano clinic.
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Humana, Tricare, and most major commercial payers. We also work with Medicare supplement (Medigap) policies. If your plan isn’t listed, call us, we’ll verify coverage before you commit to anything.
Most commercial plans require prior authorization for EECP. Our Plano team handles the entire prior-auth process for you, we submit the paperwork, talk directly to your insurer, and follow up until it’s approved. You don’t have to chase anything down.
It depends on your plan’s deductible, copay, and coinsurance. Before your course begins, we provide a written coverage estimate so you know exactly what to expect. Many Medicare patients have minimal or no out-of-pocket cost after their Part B deductible.
We offer transparent self-pay pricing and flexible payment plans. We’ll give you a complete quote during your consultation. No patient at our Plano clinic is ever billed without a clear cost estimate in hand first.
Yes. We accept Tricare and VA Community Care referrals, and we work with workers’ compensation carriers when EECP is part of an approved cardiac care plan. Our admin team can help coordinate the paperwork on either side.
One hour, on a comfortable therapy bed. Plan on about 75 minutes door-to-door including check-in, cuff placement, the 60-minute session, and removing the cuffs. Most patients schedule the same time daily so it becomes routine.
A standard course is 35 one-hour sessions delivered five days a week over seven consecutive weeks. We schedule Monday through Friday. Most patients keep the same time slot each day so the rhythm becomes part of their week.
An occasional missed day is fine, we simply add it to the end of your course. For extended pauses (vacation, illness, travel), talk to us. We’ll re-sequence your schedule to keep the clinical benefit intact.
Most patients notice improvement in angina frequency, exercise tolerance, or shortness of breath between sessions 15 and 25. The full benefit accrues by the end of the 35-session course and typically lasts three to five years.
No. The cuffs apply firm pressure to your calves and thighs in rhythm with your heartbeat. Most patients describe it as a vigorous massage. Many fall asleep during their sessions.
